Week Forty-One

16 Jul 2014

James and I spent six days in Santorini last week and it was wonderful. That place—my god— is a photographer's dream! I had such a great time going out with my camera; I captured so many great moments (memories in the flesh!), but mainly it was just James and me, relaxing and reconnecting after a very busy month of June.

We did not participate in the same go, go, go mentality, like we've had on other holidays, this trip was less about sightseeing and exploring and more about having ridiculous conversations over a couple bottles of wine, indulging in the culture and local fare and just having a chance to breathe. June was a busy month for James and it is only going to continue to get more complicated until we figure out our next move.

This week, we are going to keep it low key for sure. Our Grecian holiday was amazing, but we didn't necessarily go the budget friendly route, so we are in recovery mode. Santorini was our last major getaway of this year's assignment in London, so anything else we do will be budget friendly and local. I am content.

Right now, I am focusing on the future and at the same time not focusing on the future. I am one of those people who can obsess and obsess and obsess and it's just not a good place for me. I can get lost in it. So, at least for now, I am going to take a mini step back from the blog and try to center myself.

I will continue to upload to the blog— with pictures from our travels or whatever I am interested at the time— but right now I just find blogging so damn daunting and that is soooo not the point of blogging or keeping up with a blog.

I really enjoy taking pictures and I am eager to learn more about photography and play around with different software, so I think I am going to focus on that for a while, rather than being on some imaginary schedule for my blog... I don't know, maybe I just need to shake it up a bit and find out what style, what format, what content, works for me.

Anywho, peeps! Catch ya on the flip-side!

xx, A
