Skiing the French Alps—Le Tour & Brévent/La Flégère

1 Apr 2015

Day 1—Testing out our skis at the Domain de Balme.

The Domain de Balme, or more commonly known as 'Le Tour,' was a great "first run of the season" mountain for us. There was an abundance of long, wide, and leisurely blue runs for us to stretch our legs and test out our rental skis without pushing the limits too much. Overall, we really enjoyed this mountain—great for people of all ages and skill levels!

Day 2— Mastering the slopes at Brévent & Le Flégère.

Day two at the Brévent & La Flégère mountains was more challenging, but it a good way. You still have the luxury of wide slopes, but I enjoyed the complexity of the red runs that these mountains had to offer... Nothing to complicated, but just enough to make my legs fatigued after a few runs! These two mountains are connected by a cable car, so you get two for the price of one. Whew! We were ready for a pint after a day skiing these two bad boys!

  1. Amazing! I didn't have a chance to do some skiing this year and probably the snow melted already here in Slovenia, but this post got me a little more motivated to try it ASAP :)

  2. Gorgeous! I've never gone skiing but I always enjoy seeing mountains, especially the Alps.

  6. We really did. The week before it was white out conditions... It was a bit slushy towards the bottom, but still really really nice at the top!
